Rides along the River Trail. The second of a small series. Summer is for those night rides where anything is possible (like swallowing as many bugs as you possibly can). It’s amazing to have such a place exist so close to the dense megalopolis of the city. A quick 20 minute ride from South Philly and you’re against the forest and forgotten fountains of the centennials. Riding under century old bridges transporting chemical tankers to parts unknown. All so romantic under the serious moonlight (our endangered species of the sodium-vapor lamp). Don’t go too late though or else you’re getting shredded by the unregulated xenon headlights. A quick 15 miles levels you out. Chump change when it comes to the greatest compound simple machine ever invented.
